Erie Goes Wireless

written 19 Nov 2004 over a light lunch

Erie, PA has now gone completely wireless, anywhere within the city, thanks to a company called Winbeam. It seems to be about $40 a month, $5 more than Verizon DSL, $5 cheaper than Time Warner Cable, and 50%* more kick ass than being plugged in.

What with this revelation, and the death of my good former computer, Betsy II, perhaps it is time that I moved on to buying a laptop and getting digitally funky. And yes, I have the moral authority to refer to myself in such ubergeek terms.
