Music (and the lack of an interesting title)

written 31 Jan 2005 in the early afternoon

Bright Eyes played a show which was streamed live from NPR.org on Friday. They were with CocoRosie as well as Tilly and the Wall.

I love when musicians, while putting on a live show, mix their songs up. Listening to the band play the record exactly as it is on the CD itself is comparable to reading about a peanut butter and jelly sandwich but never actually getting to eat one. CocoRosie completely changes up their songs in this performance, so that’s just wonderful.

I have so much to say and no will to write, so I’m hoping to be able to tell you all to expect volumes throughout the day, though living up to that promise might prove illegitimate, so please take it with a grain of salt.

A lone soul responds...

  • take it with a grain of salt (phrase) • 1 accept a situation as having little importance or concrete substance (e.g. a grain of salt is itself very small and if applied to your tongue would have relatively no taste.)
2 to add salt to your food before tasting it, which, much like locking the doors while in the Wolfman’s presence, is a HUGE insult.
