Strange Matter

written 3 Jun 2005 over a light lunch

I love this word so much, I just had to blog it.

FACT: Strange matter is more interesting than black holes. Even if they’re basically the same thing (which I’m not saying they are or aren’t) it’s still more interesting. Just read the name again. Think about a grudge match between two supervillains, “Strange Matter vs. the Black Hole” who would win? I argue for Strange Matter.

Ultimate destruction and fun for the whole family!

  • My favorite part was the “degenerate electrons”. I can just see big electrons in trench coats, flashing little electrons.

  • a tiny bit of matter flying through the earth at 400km per second with tons of gravitational force seems really cool to me.. imagine getting hit with one.. or better yet your friend.. or just seeing one hit the ground and everything warp and pull to it..

  • That site is so cool! I love learning new things, especially stuff about the universe and its ingredients where I can be nosy and peer right into it. strange stuff that matters.

  • Shakespeare was wrong, a rose by any other name would not smell as sweet. Strange Matter would not be as strange if it were just gravitational force or a black hole.

  • Hey, this is serious stuff you’re all taking lightly. In fact it is possibly perilous…
