  1. Google not allowing comments on their blogs is pitiful. If you’re going to own a site named Blogger.com, you should at least practice the art of blogging. A blog w/o comments is just an online newspaper or diary, and probably as boring.
  2. There should be a yearly review of English skills for all call center employees. If you can’t speak the language of the person on the other line, you are failing at your only job.

  • ah, sorry man. here’s one. it’s pretty controversial, but after ‘hello, am i speaking with chad/robert/debra swope?’ if i detect any scent of an accent, i hang up. if the call mattered, they’d call right back and we’d have a laugh at how mean i am to call center employees.

  • Truth be that. I like the method. I signed up for the National Do Not Call Registry eons ago and it has seemed to work like a charm, though I’m strictly cell phone so I don’t know how it would be with landlines.

    I also get quite upset when someone calls me, I answer, and it’s a recorded message saying “Please hold while PERSON X contacts you.” That’s like going to someone’s house and shooting their cat in the face.
