So G4 - the “video game” channel, which aside from also showing loads of Star Trek: TNG, is reportedly the lowest rated channel on cable television (yes, after Cornerstone and all of the crappy home shopping network shows) - has released their Best of 2006 Video Game List… think of it as the Emmy’s of button pushing…
I was all smiles to see games for Nintendo (mostly the Wii, but also some DS action) getting 6 out of 11 awards, particularly considering it’s only been out for about a month and a half now…
- Action/Adventure: The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess
- Fighting: Dragonball Z
- Racing: Flatout 2 (XBox)
- RPG: Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion (XBox)
- Platformer: New Super Mario Bros
- Puzzle/Party Game: Wii Sports
- Strategy Game: Company of Heroes (PC)
- Shooter: Gears of War (XBox)
- Sports: Madden NFL (specifically the one for Wii)
- Original Game: Dead Rising (XBox)
- Game of the Year: The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess
