Shutdown Day is 3 May
I happened across Chicago design firm 10 Volt Media’s blog today where I noticed this article about Shutdown Day.
It is obvious that without computers we would find our life extremely difficult, maybe even impossible. If they disappeared for just one day, would we be able to cope? Shutdown your computer on 03 May 2008 and find out!
They go on to mention that it’d be nifty to see the effects of completely unplugging for an entire day: if en mass people ignored their televisions, computers, iPods, PDAs and cell phones for an entire day. If even a small percentage of the regular pluggable crowd were to do this, what effect would it have on society, the economy, daytime soaps?
