Religious Inequality

written 12 Nov 2008 in the late evening dusk

I personally think religion is little more than a device to appease the worried minds of those who’d rather not, or can’t bare to, think of a logical way to approach their own mortality. But I’m a jackass, so who cares, right?

The point of this writing is not to make any broad accusations as to whether or not atheists are immoral suckfaces or if religious zealots are fatmouthed poddylickers, but to make four simple observations:

  1. The Wikipedia article for Christianity is around 15,000 words long.
  2. The Wikipedia article for Muslim is 1681 words long.
  3. The Wikipedia article for Atheist is 11,780 words long.
  4. The Wikipedia article for Flying Spaghetti Monster is over 5000 words long.

As a collective whole, we know more about a made up religion than we do about the entire Muslim world?

  • Yeah, the comparison should have been with the “Islam” article since Muslim is just about a person, same as Jew vs. Judaism.

Though, the Islam article is only slightly longer than the Monday Night Wars article, which chronicles when both WWF and WCW professional wrestling were both on Monday night.
