Give away
The microwave makes its ding
The coffee kettle whistles to sing
The morning paper out in the rain
TV weather man reports anyway
The jungle all around my house
The rise and fall of all these ghost towns
We all forget we’re spinning around
Uncertain if the sun is going up or down
Read a book to calm my mind
I think about you all too much of the time
But I don’t need to write it down
For once I have it figured out
There’s a shuffle in a popper’s shoes
Seems he’s just heard of the news
They don’t make a shade for these blues
So color him in “what can you do?”
I guess this means you’re coming to me
At least that’s what I wanna believe
But the distance between then and now
Well it’s just about a million miles
Yeah give or take a million miles.
