My good friend Codfish H. Bazooka [unity@caraglio.com] sent me this lovely little mail today.
Hey baby 🙂
A successful lawsuit is the one worn by a policeman.
The meeting of preparation with opportunity generates the offspring we call luck.
It’s no use saying, ”We are doing our best.” You have got to succeed in doing what is necessary.
Man is more interesting than men. God made him and not them in his image. Each one is more precious than all.
A god who let us prove his existence would be an idol. Our power is not so much in us as through us.
We are living in the excesses of freedom. Just take a look at 42nd Street and Broadway.I’ve been on a diet for two weeks and all I’ve lost is two weeks.
Destiny is something men select women achieve it only by default or stupendous suffering.
Sometimes legends make reality, and become more useful than the facts.
The human body is the best picture of the human soul.
HAHAAHAHAH. What am I laughing at? The part about the policeman’s suit? The part about only losing two weeks? The part about the excesses of freedom having an address, presumably in NYC? No.
I’m laughing because I actually like this. I enjoy getting these spams because every now and then they say something like “Destiny is something men select. Women achieve it only by default or suffering.”
That’s excellent. I don’t know how true it is, but I can agree that I feel men typically are creators and manipulators of the outside world, and therefore their destiny is much greater than the typical role of a woman which is to bear the child. Regardless of which culture you live in, that is the role of the woman. The man plants the seed in the earth and the woman is the soil and sunlight and water that grows it. Only a rare few women end up creating from outside sources. You may not like to hear this, but looking at it objectively I think you’ll find it true. And obviously there are exceptions, that’s what the part about “by default or suffering” entails. Some women are, like some great men (note the difference between all men who create outside of the world and the true masters like Da Vinci, Einstein, Jefferson*), naturally born with the ability to paint or formulate or philosophize, they are born into a culture that accepts it. These are those born into destiny by default. You could also think of a queen or the daughter of a president as being born into destiny by default. Other women must fight to prove they are equal or superior in the quest for destiny and those would be the ones who do it through suffering. A man may strive through peril to achieve greatness, but he will never suffer like a woman has to.
Oh, and listen to Modest Mouse’s song that goes “You will come down soon too, you will come down too soon.” and “Opinions are like kittens I was givin’ them away.”
Bob, fill them in on this.
