Why is it that some people comment on certain blogs fanatically for a few days and then disappear into the woodwork never to be heard from again?

Is it perhaps that they read all of the time but for those few days they were in an extraordinairy mood and so they commented, out of character?

Or perhaps they just lose interest after a few days? Or maybe the things the blogger was interested in for a week or so intrigued the reader, but as the blogger changed, the reader didn’t change or did so in a different way.
