My youth as a Y-Indian (Guide)
So I spent part of my youth dressing up like an Indian (the native American type) and learning how to act in the ways of this land’s native ancestors.
You might think that sort of thing would involve skinning a buffalo or building fires out of nothing but fish bones and the Spirit of the Land or at least making beaded necklaces, but actually it was mostly just a bunch of dads and their sons sitting around making small wooden cars to race and drinking Cherokee Red.
Anyway, for some reason I had the urge to look something up about the Y-Indian Guides (the group that I did all of this with) and I found this. I particularly like #6 under the Aims header a little ways down the page (underneath the official Y-Indian Guides patch).
