Fair Trade
Google is great and all, don’t get me wrong: giving away free stuff, expanding the Internet, having a crappy logo. But I can’t figure out for the life of me why they refuse to get into web standards. To their credit, they were among the first to adopt Firefox and really helped to get that browser to where it is today, but so many of their pages don’t validate (when it’s so easy) and I’m not even talking about the Google Labs experiments or their more complicated Web applications.
One day we’ll all wake up and our Gmail, Google Calendar and GoogleAir won’t work anymore and we’ll be forced to fight the secret Google Search (& Destroy) Bots that will be knocking down our doors, knowing our names, exactly where we sleep and our weaknesses (high cholesterol beware!) as they Matrix-ify our lives.
But at least we won’t have SPAM in our Inbox until then.
