How to Find out Who Links back to your Website
Google’s Sitemaps is a great tool for helping Google’s robots to index your pages, therefore producing better search results, in theory.
They’ve just updated it with a few new features, including better image searches for the images on your pages, the ability to set whether www.yoursite.com or simple yoursite.com should be used when displaying/searching results, and best of all, a much more comprehensive list of who’s linking to what pages on your site. (As opposed to the old link: operator
).
It can be a bit difficult to set up Site Maps, and you’ll need to thoroughly read their directions and have pretty substantial access to your server, but once you get it configured properly you can really get some great info regarding your site’s pages, how they’re indexed, and how to get better performance all around.
