It’s a winter wonderland if ever the cliché was to be appropriately used. It’s great when it sneaks up on you like this; one day you look out the window and half of nature is covered an inch thick in puffy frozen water.
I walked out of our back door, through the back gate and on the way to take Tristan to school, still groggy from my morning routine’s inability to wake me up from last night. And then, whamo, straight down into the ground, I slip on a patch of ice and wail into the pavement.
I remember when I used to have scabs all the time, from skateboarding, riding bikes, climbing trees, I’d be covered in them. Now I’m just covered in snow and shame…
